Our Story

Landscape architect Radek Otevřel became independent after graduating from Mendel University with the intention to implement his own designs of landscape architecture and interior greenery (www.otevrel.eu). Over time, as a part of his own individual development and after getting some inspiration abroad, he focused more and more on vertical greenery. Floral paintings and interior living walls began to prevail over outdoor gardens.

In 2014, he founded Vertigia s.r.o. which captures the concept of vertical gardens with its name – giardini verticale. After meeting architect Zdeněk Hirnšal, whose main focus was cables, mesh and membranes (www.archtex.cz), they found common ground and began cooperating on the creation of vertical greenery.

“More greenery for urban areas”

As convinced environmentally-thinking architects, they have seen their motto “More greenery to urban areas” as the basis for their future of cooperation. They have put together a comprehensive system that not only deals with greenery, but with technology for irrigation – water filtering, storage technology and landscape rainwater management.

As environmentally concious architects, the moto “More greenery for urban areas” functions as the basis for the future of their company. They have put together a comprehensive scheme that integrates greenery with irrigation and water filtration, storage technology and rainwater management.

Vertigia s.r.o. was founded in 2018 and has specialised in these comprehensive solutions, collaborating with top suppliers in the areas of greenery and water management. We offer cooperation on the architectural design in all phases of the project, beginning with the concept and installation of greenery to the technological maintenance and support related to the plants.

“We are convinced that only comprehensive designs are beneficial for our client.”

In this way, we contribute to both the improvement of the spacial aesthetic and the economical management of water and energy. Today, we live in a wealthy society that is putting strains on its limited resources. It is necessary to conserve our environment so that we may pass it on to our children in a better state than it is today. Our contribution of vertical greenery is small but important to the increase of sustainable development.
